Besides culture and tradition, Indonesia is rich of beautiful and exotic rare flora and fauna. To maintain this valuable potency and beauty, we have to pay high attention, care and love to them. The feeling of love and hobby cause Mr. Ir. Anak Agung Gde Putra starts to build the zoo. On an exotic area of three hectares located in Singapadu village, Sukawati district, Gianyar regency, Bali province of Indonesian republic, the zoo is built with the name “Bali Zoo”. Bali Zoo is fully supported by both surrounding societies, local government as well as central government.
The existence of tropical nuance, Bali Zoo is hoped to be able to attract more visitors coming to Bali, hence Bali is still as the most favorite tourists destination in the world.
Bali Zoo was opened in 2002. It is the first and the only one zoo in Bali. There are 350 rare fauna from either Indonesia or outside Indonesia in Bali Zoo.
In Bali Zoo all flora and fauna find their own habitat atmosphere, as it is built with full commitment of conservation, research, education and recreation.
Entering the exotic world of fauna, visitors are welcomed by our friendly staffs, warm repeatedly song of Siamang, lazy gigantic crocodile, and the biggest varanus of the world, Komodo Dragon.
The songs of various kind of birds, such as: Bali white starlings (Jalak Bali), Peacocks, Cassowaries, Cockatoos and many other Asian birds are greeting visitors while walking through the paths with lush tropical plantation and soft sound of fountains drops from the surrounding ponds.
